Chronic wounds of the lower extremities are among the most vexing and frustrating problems for patients and physicians. Usually occurring in the setting of multiple medical and surgical illnesses, these wounds frequently have venous or arterial insufficiency as a primary etiology or significant contributing factor.
Coastal Carolina Surgical Associates has maintained an interest in the treatment of vascular problems as they relate to wound care and has pursued newer and more sophisticated technologies in an effort to respond to the needs of this group of patients. Our Wound Care Center has a special focus of applying the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technology for the care of chronic wounds and ulcers of the lower extremities.
